On
October 18th, 2001, Chinese singing mega-celebrity Coco Lee launched
the Tiger Weekend campaign in Taipei, Taiwan. This event, which
was hosted by National Geographic Channel, 7-Eleven and the Society
of Wilderness, was attended by dozens of reporters, photographers
and cameramen. A radiant and playful Coco, who was born in the year
of the tiger, conveyed her desire to see the people of Taiwan help
save wild tigers and encouraged people to watch the Tiger Weekend
special presentations on National Geographic Channel on December
22nd and December 29th 2001.
