Billy Arjan Singh is an eminent and internationally-known tiger expert and author. He lives in 'Tiger Haven' near the Dudhwa Reserve, a Project Tiger reserve on the India/Nepal border. He has dedicated his life to the protection of Dudhwa and its tigers. He was deeply involved in campaigning that made the government of India upgrade Dudhwa from a sanctuary to a National Park and then to a Project Tiger reserve. He is also the only man to have ever successfully re-introduced a tiger back into the wild. He brought Tara, from an English zoo in 1976 and two year later she was living free in the jungle.
